Fifty Shades of Walnut

FreakyElke

Materials: brass, aluminium, walnut, birch plywood

The bases have a laser-cut honeycomb structure on the inside. For the backs, I used birch plywood and covered it with walnut veneer.

For the chisel I sand-cast Zamak. The plane is made from 2mm thick brass plate with some aluminium parts.

I guess that it took me somewhere around 25 hours to make these.

I am a bit disappointed because after applying a clear acrylic finish the different walnut pieces developed different color tones. Some pieces stayed really light and others got a lot darker. That´s why I call it Fifty Shades of Walnut.
