The Ouija Board – Craftsmen’s Guild Edition was made from a slab of maple that I milled and measures 10″ by 14″ (25.4cm by 35.56cm). I chose this game as I’ve always been fascinated by the Ouija board and have had a lot of great times with friends through the years. I was also looking for a project that would allow me to try a new skill. The skill I learned this time was pyrography. This wood burned Ouija game board is my first attempt at pyrography. I used a Razertip SK. Probably the biggest challenge faced was keeping the burns looking consistent across the piece due to the variations in the wood grain. The very intricate details of the Craftsmen’s Guild logo on the planchette was also very challenging. I don’t have an exact hours count on this board, but I’d estimate the entire project around 35-40 hours.
