A Pear of bookends for a little light reading

Pear wood from an old tree that came down in the storms a few years ago, each block cut into sections, channelled out and LED light strips embedded.

Many, many, many resin pours later the bookends have two faces: a dark, geode-like side, allowing a little light to show through the black glittery finish, and a clear side with silver glitter giving a starfield effect in the changing light.

Worm holes and tracks in the wood were filled with fine copper powder before waxing and buffing to a gloss finish.

The light strips are usb powered, so can be run from a mains supply, or plugged in to a power bank to place wherever you want.
