It’s made from a black walnut shell I found in Virginia, acrylic paint and a leather hinge. It took 6+/- hours to make. The challenge was coming up with something to make after my first two attempts failed 2 days before the deadline so I decided to go in a different direction. Most of the carving was done with my Dremel.
