It’s a strange looking crossbow or at least that was the initial idea but after weeks overcomplicating the design and Emilie fearing for my life and the cat, I opted instead for this cute little sandpit digger.
It is an engineering submission. Material is 0.5cm plywood cut to shape on a bandsaw and assembled with CA clue and a level of patience even I am impressed I had.
Biggest challenge? Drawing the plans to rough scale and converting that into a model that actually functions as intended.
It’s a nice little introduction for kids to show that engineering / mechanisms can be fun.
P.s. No cats were harmed in the making of videos but my arms were.
