I just wanted to cross stitch something. Even after finishing that part I didn’t have a clue how to make them into bookends. Until the last saturday. So it’s 6 different cat patterns cross stitched on to black aida. They’re made into bookmarks by inserting thin metal plate between aida fabric and backing fabric. Same backing fabric is used to completely cover the bookend forms. Which in themselves are made of plexi glass and 3D printed parts. Under the fabric both bookends have two magnets to hold the bookmarks when not in use. I think I used about a week for the cross stitching and two days for the rest.
