The pieces were cut out of a single sheet of 1/4 inch or 6mm MDF using a scroll saw. The concept was to have different levels with the text / characters and blend pop art with more texture. The individual pieces were then sanded and painted using a combination of hand painting and airbrush. Time spent was 2 hours cutting, 2 hours sanding, 8 hours painting, 1 hour assembly. Painting was easily the hardest part, as I’ve never done anything like this before.
