Like many people, I waited until the last minute to decide on what to make, so I ditched all of my ideas from the month before and decided to turn an ornament in the last two days. This was still new to me as I had never turned a snowman before, so success wasn’t guaranteed! Using mostly the skew, the hat was turned out of an apple branch, the body and nose were turned out of basswood. The arms are twisted wire, the scarf was crocheted and the dino grabbers were lasercut, All of the painting was done with paint pens. I managed to get this body on the third attempt, the hat I somehow got exactly what I wanted on my first try. So turning, wire twisting, crocheting, carving, painting and laser cutting — I’m really happy with how this turned out, and the dino grabber arms were the cherry on top.
