Taking a piece of applewood send to me by our friend Shanniganz, I turned the vase you see here. Mounted at a slight angle on the lathe, I was able to keep a small portion of the bark/sapwood area around the bottom bout. A 1” hole was bored into the top of the vase for either a dried or fake flower or it can take a small test tube to put water in for a fresh flower. Sanded and buffed to a nice sheen finish it would look nice on a table or mantle. Dimensions are about 11” tall by about 3” diameter at the widest points.
